Hotel breakfast is no longer reserved only for ove Hotel breakfast is no longer reserved only for overnight guests.

More and more hotels are opening their restaurants, terraces and shared spaces to the city, transforming areas once used for just a few hours a day into new opportunities for business, connection and positioning.

From Portrait Milano, with the project by AMDL CIRCLE, to hotels in Florence and the Mazzarò Sea Palace by VRetreats in Taormina, designed by DE.TALES, breakfast becomes an experience shaped through architecture, design, rituals and local products.

A shift that reflects a new idea of the hotel: no longer a closed place, but an urban space capable of attracting the local community too.

Food is no longer just something to look at: it is Food is no longer just something to look at: it is photographed, listened to, narrated and designed.
From fine dining restaurants to artificial intelligence, gastronomic communication is transforming the dish into a cultural, visual and sensory experience.

Photography, graphics, video, podcasts, sound design and gamification become tools to build identity, desire and memory around food.

Different experiences tell this story: from Niko Pagnotta’s photographs for the De’ Minimi restaurant at Villa Paola in Tropea, to Labbestia’s graphic design project for Masseria Scannagatta in Puglia.

As Stefano Ciannamea and Serena Zanchi, founders of Labbestia, explain: “Visual design is a strategic lever that influences the perception of value, memorability and the sensory identity of a place, as well as of a dish and a glass of wine.”

From Ostia to Caracalla, via Colle Oppio, the Skat From Ostia to Caracalla, via Colle Oppio, the Skateboarding World Cup becomes an opportunity to look at Rome through the public quality of its spaces.

Skateboarding is not just an urban sport: it is a practice capable of activating places, generating a sense of belonging and building relationships between neighbourhoods, heritage and communities.

The Spot Skate Park in Ostia, the Skate Village at the Park of Caracalla and the Colle Oppio skatepark show how the city can become truly public when it is crossed, inhabited and shared.

A tangible example of urban “publicness”, where sport confirms its role as social infrastructure and a tool for regeneration.

Until 23 August, “Rothko in Florence” brings the c Until 23 August, “Rothko in Florence” brings the chromatic and spiritual world of Mark Rothko to @palazzostrozzi in an exhibition curated by Christopher Rothko and Elena Geuna and conceived in dialogue with the city.

The itinerary continues at the @museodisanmarco among the cells frescoed by Fra Angelico, and at the @bibliotecamedicealaurenziana where the artist’s works encounter the space designed by Michelangelo.

Completing the experience is a gourmet pause between @strozzibistro designed by Fabio Novembre, and Il Magnifico at Il Tornabuoni, with cuisine by Simone Tarchi and a rooftop dedicated to Manuel Maiorano’s contemporary pizza.

A Florentine journey through colour, space and signature flavours.
